Mood Disorders Clinic

Gateway Psychiatric Services, which has been providing clinical care, consultation and professional education for over 10 years, has recently opened a multi-specialty Mood Disorder Clinic (MDOC).  The Mood Disorder Clinic is a psychiatric and psychological service located in the Hayes Valley area of San Francisco.  It serves as a private community resource, dedicated to improving treatment and understanding of mood disorders.

The MDOC is under the clinical leadership of Peter Forster, M.D.  Dr. Forster is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF, and a member of a group of experts in bipolar disorder who were selected to develop the Expert Consensus Guidelines on the treatment of bipolar disorder in 1996 and 2000.  The clinic is the culmination of years of work in psychiatry devoted to implementing “Best Practices” in the treatment of patients with mood disorders.
