An Electronic "Consultation"

We know that coming in for an office visit is not always convenient and has a real cost to you as a patient. Clinic fees, gas and parking, lost wages, child care and other "hard-dollar" costs of office visits add up. We are sensitive to these costs and understand your time is valuable.

While most appointments require you and your physician to be in the same room, there are many instances where you can be provided with as much, or more, individualized information without a face-to-face meeting. Some specific examples include:

· Advice on changes in your particular
medical situation,

· Gathering information on options for
treatment, and

· Interpretation of abnormal test results with suggestions for further evaluation or therapy.

Medem’s Online Consultation™ service, and the modest associated fee ($30), are designed not only for your convenience, but also to save you money when your questions, that previously required an office visit, can be adequately answered online. Online Consultation will not be the ideal service for all patients, but it will serve the needs of many and we are happy to offer this new service and convenience to our patients.

Getting Started

In order to use Medem you must register first. This process may take a couple of days and is free, so if you think you might ever use it is worthwhile registering now.

Click on the "New User" link in the Patient Login box on our Web site http://www.gatewaypsychiatric.yourmd.com
Fill in all of the required fields on the form that opens up including creating
your own User ID and Password. (Required Fields are those fields that
have an asterisk (*) next to the field name). You will need to have a valid
e-mail address so that we can let you know if you have a new message.
When you have completed filling in all of the required fields click the "Send Registration" button at the bottom of the page.
You will receive a message back from your doctor, when you have been
approved to use Online Consultation.
Once you have been fully registered, login by clicking on the "Patient Log In" link and then entering the User ID and Password that you created.
Once you have logged in, you can send messages to your physician by selecting the type of message you desire, completing the online questionnaire and entering your credit card information.

Rest assured, your messages are protected by Internet security encryption technology. Respecting your privacy is extremely important to us, that is why we have chosen to use this Secure Messaging System.
