Hey. Thanks for your response, for some reason I’ve only just seen it.
Yes I wonder too. It’s been nearly 2 months now I think that I’ve been off it since my 2-day trial... but things have changed. Whenever I have coffee or alcohol now, I can feel a sort of cramping feeling in my brain, like sparks... I guess like an electric vibration, it’s difficult to describe. I’ve dramatically had to reduce my coffee intake as a result. I never used to drink much anyway but I do notice it whenever I have a beer or two. I don’t believe it’s psychological as I completely forget this happens until it happens, you know? I’m curious what you mean by a triggered response.

I have been taking Viibryd for almost 2 years and would like to wean my brain off of this medicine. I take 20mg per day. I feel that I am drugged most of the time with this and an anti-anxiety medication Buspirone.
My primary is a great P.A. but always ready with the scripts. One time I was on at least 12! Not all for depression although seemed like Rx is the cure!
Half of 20mg Viibryd for a few days okay?
Thanks

This is an very unusual response. Withdrawal is a reflection of the brain's response to the medication and that response takes days to weeks to develop. I wonder if something else could be happening. A different process might be at play: the medication might have triggered a response. Whereas withdrawal is time limited, a triggered response might last longer.

This is a helpful article.
I took venlafaxine for 2 days and it just didn’t feel right at all, so I came off it. It was only 37.5mg but I’ve had horrible withdrawals - would this be expected after only taking 2 doses?! I’m into the second week off the drug now. I wasn’t depressed before I went on it, so because it didn’t agree with me, I wanted to manage the social angst I felt through psychotherapy. The experience has given me some interesting insight into my own symptoms and responses but I can’t find any literature anywhere to determine if these withdrawals should disappear soon. I feel so much worse than before I took anything.

Thank you for your comment. There certainly is reason to consider the relationship between lithium, calcium, and neuronal excitability.

Dear Salma,
Unfortunately we do not treat children. I would recommend that you take your daughter in to see her pediatrician who should be able to provide you with a referral.
